PMI® rolled out new changes to the PMP exam based on thorough research into how the project management profession has evolved since the last changes made in 2015. Three significant changes include:
1. PMP Exam Format
The new exam is comprised of 180 questions, which need to be answered within 230 minutes (one additional break for a total of two 10-minute breaks for computer-based tests; no scheduled breaks for paper-based exams). Questions will be a combination of multiple-choice, multiple responses, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank.
2. PMP Exam Content
While the old exam focused mainly on the stages of a project, the new one encompasses everything and everyone involved, namely:
PEOPLE – 42% of items on the exam, emphasizing the skills and activities associated with effectively leading a project team.
PROCESS – 50% of items on the exam, reinforcing the technical aspects of managing a project.
BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT – 8% of items on the exam, highlighting the connection between projects and organization strategy.
3. Exam Preparation
Through its Authorized Training Partners (ATP), PMI is making available its digital resources for exam preparation. When you enrol for KnowledgeHut's PMP training, you will receive comprehensive exam preparation support.
