Prerequisites:

To apply for the Project Management Professional (PMP)®credential, you need to either:

Possess a Secondary Degree (High School Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Global equivalent) with minimum of five (5) years / 60 months of unique (non-overlapping) Project Management experience, with 7,500 hours in leading and directing projects, and 35 hours of Project Management Education

OR
Possess a four (4) year degree (Bachelor's Degree or the Global equivalent) and a minimum 3 years/36 months of Project Management experience, with 4,500 hours in leading and directing projects, and 35 hours of Project Management Education

Certification:

In order to appear for the Project Management Professional (PMP)®exam:

You will have to take up formal project management training from a Registered Education Provider like KnowledgeHut (REP ID: 3757).
You would be required to take up the PMI® membership and apply for the PMP® certification exam on the website -http://www.pmi.org/

The Project Management Professional certification is the flagship course offered by the highly-respected Project Management Institute(PMI)®, a non-profit professional membership association that provides trainings and certifications in the field of project, program and portfolio management. You may attend the coaching to gain an in-depth knowledge of project management principles, but without the stated educational qualifications and experience, you cannot appear for the examination.

You will get 35 PDUs on completion of 35 hours of training. These can be used toward your continuing education and recertification requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) ®.

PDUs are credits awarded by the Project Management Institute . They recognize your dedication to the Project Management world through the award of credits for every educational effort you make throughout your career. Every PMI® certification, except the CAPM®, requires you to earn a specific number of PDUs per three-year certification cycle.

You will receive the PMP® certification that is provided by the PMI® institute, on successfully passing the exam.

The PMP® examination is comprised of 200 multiple-choice questions and has to be completed in 4 hours. Of the 200 questions, 25 are considered pretest questions and do not affect the score.

With the exception of the CAPM® credential, all those who earn a PMI certification must actively maintain their certifications through participation in the CCR (Continuing Certification Requirements) Program and renewal of their certifications every 3 years. You can take part in professional development and learning activities to earn Professional Development Units (PDUs), thus fulfilling the continuing certification requirements and ultimately growing and developing as a practitioner.

To maintain your PMP® certification, you must earn and record 60 PDUs every 3 years.

Virtual and face-to-face classes are held on both weekdays and weekends. You can check available schedules and choose the batch timings which are convenient for you. If you are in a time crunch, virtual classes may work better for you.
