  1. Navigate to the www.PMI.org website. Under the myPMI® option select “Review Application status” then select “Schedule Exam”
  2. The page will redirect to your Pearson VUE account. Under the list of “Pre-approved Exams”.
  3. The Pearson VUE page will have  a space to enter the name of your testing program. You need to type PMI® - Project Management Institute in it.

    Note: You need to select your testing program before scheduling, rescheduling or cancelling an exam, or you could contact a customer service representative.

  4. Or else, you can click on ‘A to Z list of all programs’ which will take you to a list of test sponsors.
  5. The test sponsor name for PMP® is PMI® (Project Management Institute) which you’ll be able to find once you click on ‘P’.
  6. Once you find and click on PMI® - Project Management Institute, you’ll land on a page where you need to log in using your unique PMI® eligibility ID.
  7. In the next step you’ll have to choose between Center Based Test or Online Proctored Test option.

If you select CBT option:

Follow the below-mentioned scheduling instructions to take up the PMP® Exam (CBT) in Melbourne Test Center:

  1. Select the booking method option available to you.
  2. Select the I will be scheduled for a future date at a test center’ option, before proceeding.
  3. On the next page, you will be asked to review the View Testing Policies. Followed by ‘Schedule this exam’.
  4. Following that, choose the test center, in Melbourne and then choose a suitable date and time.
  5. Click on Proceed to Checkout.
  6. Follow the steps and click on Submit Order. This will confirm your appointment.
  7. You will receive a confirmation mail from Pearson VUE.

If you select Online Proctored Test:

You need to follow these steps if you choose to take up the PMP® exam in Melbourne Test Center through Online Proctored Test:

  1. Proceed with reading the online proctoring policies and then click ‘Next’.
  2. The next page will have the exam and language aid you have selected.
  3. Next step is to click on ‘View Testing Policies’ and then proceed with ‘Schedule This Exam’.
  4. Since it's an  online exam, you don’t need to select a location.
  5. You can schedule your exam at any time of the day between Tuesday to Saturday, a date you would like to take your exam on and then the time.
  6. Go through your appointment details before clicking on ‘Proceed to Checkout’.
  7. Complete the checkout by following the next steps and then click on ‘Submit Order’.
  8. You will receive a confirmation email from Pearson VUE once your appointment is confirmed.

If the cancellation is done within 30 days of the exam, $70 will be charged by PMI. Cancellation must be done 48 hours prior to the exam or the entire sum paid will have to be forfeited.

Details regarding the Paper-based Testing (PBT) of the Project Management Institute (PMI)® are yet to be announced. All the candidates who had their exam scheduled on or after 1st July 2019 will have their exam shifted to a Pearson VUE test center.

After successfully submitting the PMP® certification fee or completing the PMP® application audit, an email will be sent to you that will confirm your appointment and give you the PMI® eligibility ID which will be required to schedule the PMP® exam at the Pearson VUE website. It is also available in the myPMI® section of the PMI® website.

(a)   On the PMI® website, enter the “Review application status” section. Click on “Reschedule exam or cancel exam”(b)   Click on the exam you wish to reschedule
(c)   An option will appear to cancel or reschedule the exam

Note - If the cancellation is done within 48 hours of the scheduled exam, then the entire sum paid will be forfeited.

Watches, wallets, food, beverages, books, calculators, books, bags, sweaters, coats, pagers, cellular, telephones, tape recorders, dictionaries, eye drops, medications, etc. are the materials prohibited in the Test location.

Before applying, make sure you have the computer equipment that fulfill the needs specified for taking the online proctored exam. Other than that any candidate wishing to apply for the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® exam/ CAPM and has passed the eligibility may apply.

Logging in to www.prometric.com will help in easy scheduling of the examination. Afterwards, the below mentioned steps need to be followed to confirm the candidature for PMP® examination in Melbourne:

  • After log-in choose the test sponsor from the directory and hit the search button. Test sponsor is the Project Management Institute for PMP® examinations.
  • You will be directed to the PMI® page after selection of test sponsor. Schedule your  test on PMI® page and then click on ‘SCHEDULE MY TEST’ button.
  • After clicking on ‘SCHEDULE MY TEST’ button you will be allowed to select your state and country. The page will provide you a directory, and from that you need to choose your country as Australia.
  • Once the domicile is confirmed, you will get detailed information about PMP® examination. You will know about online scheduling of exam, cancellation and rescheduling policy, arrival time at exam centre, documents required, accommodations and PMP® eligibility criteria. 
  • Next page gives you information about privacy policy of the exam sponsor. For proceeding you should give your confirmation on the policies and privacy regulations.
  • Afterwards you need to provide the present eligibility ID which you will receive from PMI® once you complete the payment process. You should also enter your first four characters of last name. 
  • If the information provided by you is valid, you will be directed to a page where you need to choose your suitable time and date for the exam from the available slots.
  • After completion of verification process your appointment is fixed.
  • Prometric doesn’t require any fee. After approval of application you have to pay $405 to PMI®.
  • Now comes the major step. You need to reach the Prometric Test Center in Melbourne along with a valid ID proof for verification. There will be 200 questions that need to be answered within duration of four hours.
  • Attempt all the 200 questions. After test submission, results will be obtained without any delay.

With the same eligibility ID, candidate can re-apply thrice in case he/she is not successful in the first attempt. For re-scheduling via Prometric in Melbourne a candidate needs to pay $275 to PMI®. Even if a the candidate fails to pass the exam in third attempt, he is supposed to repeat the complete application procedure from the beginning.

It is easy to reschedule the PMP® exam by paying $70 within 30 days of appointment. Below is a list of steps which you are supposed to follow for rescheduling the exam in Melbourne through Prometric:

  • Visit the page of prometric.com.
  • Login and select the test sponsor from the directory and click the search button. The test sponsor is (PMI)®- Project Management Institute.
  • Once you choose the test sponsor, you will be directed to the test sponsor page where you need to select the option “RESCHEDULE/CANCEL MY TEST”. 
  • Once you select “RESCHEDULE/CANCEL MY TEST”, you will be directed to the next page. You need to choose your country from the directory.
  • You need to log in by using the confirmation/tracking number along with first four characters of last name.
  • Once you provide all the information your application will get confirmed.

Yes, but it is  essential to forward a request to the PMI® thirty days prior to the exam eligibility expiry. Once the refund is processed application will get automatically closed and eligibility period validity will get over.

PMP® Exam & PMP® Renewal

The PMP® certification remains valid for three years. It is possible to renew the same by gaining PDUs for fulfilling Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR).
