PMP® Exam fees:As a non member of  PMI®, you can choose between a computer-based exam and a paper-based exam either of which will cost you $555. Moreover, there are three opportunities for re-attempting the exam, if you fail to clear the exam in the first attempt. The cost of re-examination is $375.

 PMI® membership:When you become a member of the  PMI® you are provided with a concession on the examination fee. Training Costs:

PMI® has made it compulsory to attend 35 hours of training after which you become eligible for the PMP® examination. PMI® has made this decision to give a more seamless exam experience to its candidates. Pearson VUE is reputed for the examinations they hold across industries. Their testing programs claim to be more reliable and accessible, with more test centres than Prometric. For the PMI-ACP® and CAPM® test, online proctoring will commence from April 1st, for every other PMI® certifications testing is available from July 1st.
It is important to note that if a candidate has registered for an exam on the date of or prior to June 30th will require to take their exam at a Prometric test centre, candidates who registered post June 30th will have to answer their exams at a Pearson VUE test centre.

  1. Navigate to the website. Under the myPMI® option select “Review Application status” then select “Schedule Exam”
  2. The page will redirect to your Pearson VUE account. Under the list of “Pre-approved Exams”
  3. The Pearson VUE page comprises of a space to enter the name of your testing program. You need to type PMI® - Project Management Institute in it.

    Note: You need to select your testing program before scheduling, rescheduling or cancelling an exam, or you could contact a customer service representative.

  4. Or else, you can click on ‘A to Z list of all programs’ which will take you to a list of test sponsors.
  5. The test sponsor name for PMP® is PMI® (Project Management Institute) which you’ll be able to find once you click on ‘P’.
  6. Once you find and click on PMI® - Project Management Institute, you’ll land on a page where you need to log in using your unique PMI® eligibility ID.
  7. In the next step you’ll have to choose between Center Based Test or Online Proctored Test option.

If you select CBT option:

Proceed with the below-mentioned scheduling instructions to take up the PMP® Exam (CBT) in Ottawa Test Center:

  1. Select the booking method option available to you. Click the 'I will be scheduled for a future date at a test center’ option to proceed.
  2. Examine the View Testing Policies. Next, click on Schedule this exam.
  3. Select the exam center in Ottawa and then choose a suitable date and time.
  4. After selecting, review the appointment and click on Proceed to Checkout.
  5. Follow the steps and click on Submit Order. This will confirm your appointment
  6. Pearson VUE will send you a confirmation mail. 

If you select Online Proctored Test:

You need to consider the following steps if you choose to take up the PMP® exam in Ottawa Test Center through Online Proctored Test:

  1. Adhere to the online proctoring policies and then read it.  Proceed by clicking on ‘Next’.
  2. Select the ‘View Testing Policies’ and then click on ‘Schedule This Exam’.
  3. You can schedule your PMP® exam at any time of the day between Tuesday to Saturday. Select a date you would like to take your exam on and then the time.
  4. Once you make the selection, you need to review your appointment details and then click on ‘Proceed to Checkout’.
  5. Complete the checkout by following the next steps and then click on ‘Submit Order’.
  6. You will receive a confirmation email from Pearson VUE once your appointment is confirmed.

If the cancellation is done within 30 days of the exam, a few of $70 will be charged. Cancellation must be done 48 hours prior to the exam or the entire sum paid will have to be forfeited.

No update has been announced about the Paper-based testing (PBT) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. Although, the PBT exam scheduled on or after 1st July will be moving to Pearson VUE test center.

  • Step 1 – Call the respective customer care centre.
  • Step 2 – The representative will ask you the Testing program you intend to take, which in this case is PMI® or the Project Management Institution.
  • Step 3 – On being asked, provide your name of the examination and your PMI® ID.
  • Step 4 – At last, verify your name, address, email address and phone number.

You will receive an email confirming your appointment after you submit the PMP® Certification fee or complete the PMP® application audit. This email  will also contain the PMI® Eligibility ID.

  1. On the PMI® website, enter the “Review application status” section. Click on “Reschedule exam or cancel exam”
  2. Click on the exam you wish to reschedule
  3. An option will appear to cancel or reschedule the exam

Note: If the cancellation is done within 48 hours of your exam, the exam and the sum payed will be forfeited.

Watches, wallets, food, beverages, books, calculators, books, bags, sweaters, coats, pagers, cellular, telephones, tape recorders, dictionaries, eye drops, medications, etc. are prohibited inside the Testing location.

Before applying, ensure that you have the requisite computer equipment. Other than that, any candidate wishing to apply for the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® exam or CAPM exam, with the required, eligibility may apply.

For the Online Proctor exam, there is a standard system, environment, technical and testing protocol requirements. Before scheduling an appointment, take care of the following things:

  1. Running System test
    • Download the exam and run it in the system and in the location you will be taking the exam from.
    • You need to have a microphone, working internet connection, and a webcam.
    • You will have to take a one-question exam to make sure you have a secure browser connection.
  2. Review policies and procedures
    There are some policies and procedures for the online proctor exam that must be strictly followed.

  3. Verify System Requirements
    Before you schedule an appointment, you need to verify that your system meets the system requirements.

Candidates who have already scheduled their exam post the announcement will have to take their exam at Prometric if it is on or before June 30th.

All exams after 30th June will be held at Pearson VUE test centres.

  5. When you select Canada the page will provide you with the necessary information related to PMP® examination.   You will be provided with information regarding examination schedule, cancellation, rescheduling policy, documents to carry, arrival time etc. 
  6. In the following page, you will be provided with the privacy policy of the exam sponsor. Agree to the privacy regulations and policies and navigate to the next page.
  7. The page that follows requires you to manually enter the eligibility ID provided by  PMI® when you completed the payment and you have to enter the first four characters of your last name.
  8. If you have entered the right information, you will be redirected to a new page where you would have to select time and date of the exam.
  9. Your schedule will be confirmed when the verification process is complete. 
  10. Please remember that Prometric does not charge you any fees. Pay $405 to  PMI® after approval of application.
  11. On the day of the examination you need to reach the Prometric Testing Centre in Ottawa with an authorized ID given by the Canadian government. You need to attempt all the 200 questions in a brief period of four hours.
  12. Results will be delivered instantaneously when you submit the test.

If you fail to clear the exam in the first chance, you have three more attempts with the same eligibility ID. In this process, you have to pay an amount of $275 to the  PMI® for rescheduling your examination through Prometric test center in Ottawa. Keep in mind that if you fail to clear the exam in three re-attempts then you have to start the whole process of application from scratch.

Rescheduling your PMP® examination through Prometric in Ottawa is quite simple. For this purpose, you have a span of 30 days and you should pay $70.

  • Visit the website
  • After you successfully login you need to select the test sponsor from the directory. For PMP® examination  PMI® is the test sponsor.
  • When you have selected the test sponsor you need to opt for ‘reschedule/ cancel my test’ and click on it.
  • In the following page, you have to select your country from the directory.
  • Make sure to log in by submitting the confirmation/tracking number along with the first four  characters of your last name.
  • When you have submitted the required information, your application will be confirmed.

Claiming a refund for PMP® certification is simple. Before 30 days of exam eligibility expiration, you have to send a request to  PMI® for a refund. When the processing of refund is completed the application is closed and the eligibility period is terminated.

PMP® Exam & PMP® Renewal

PMP® certification remains valid for three years. If you wish to renew your certification,  you have to earn PDUs as a part of fulfilling the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR).

You need to earn PDUs for the maintenance of  PMI® as it is an important aspect of Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR). For  PMI® certification renewal and for meeting the CCR requirements, candidates need to gain 60 PDUs.

Getting  PMI® certification  From the day you pass the PMP® exam the CCR cycle starts and it will continue for three years.

Taking part in professional development events  You must actively participate in the professional development events for earning PDUs.

Record and report PDUs
  You must submit your PDU claims for the certification through the CCR system.

CCR criteria fulfillment
  To fulfill the CCR criteria for certification you need to have sufficient PDUs.

Paying the renewal fee and completing the CCR application
  You will get reminders of renewal and payment from the  PMI®

Completion of the CCR Renewal
  You need to strictly follow the guidelines to continuously maintain the validity of your certification.
