You can schedule the PMP® exam through Pearson VUE online very easily. Here is what you need to do:

  1. Log in to the website www.PMI.org. Under the Review Application Status section, find the option “Schedule Exam” and click on it.
  2. The Pearson VUE page comprises of a space to enter the name of your testing program. You need to type PMI® - Project Management Institute in it.Note: You need to select your testing program before scheduling, rescheduling or cancelling an exam, or you could contact a customer service representative.
  3. Or you will see a list of test sponsors when you click on ‘A to Z list of all programs’.
  4. Since the test sponsor name for PMP® is PMI® (Project Management Institute), you’ll be able to find it after you click on ‘P’.
  5. You’ll land on a page where you need to log in using your unique PMI® eligibility ID after you find and click on PMI® - Project Management Institute.
  6. In the next step you’ll have to choose between Center Based Test or Online Proctored Test option.

If you select Online Proctored Test:

You need to consider the following steps if you choose to take up the PMP® exam in Chennai Test Center through Online Proctored Test:

  3. Choose the date and time. You can schedule your PMP® exam at any time of the day between Tuesday to Saturday.

Yes. You will get a refund if you cancel the exam within 30 days of the scheduled date. A fee of $70 will be charged. However, cancelling the exam before 48 hours of the scheduled appointment will result in zero refunds.

Currently, there are no updates regarding the Paper-based Testing (PBT) of the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. Candidates with their appointments scheduled on or after 1st July 2019 will have their exam moved to a Pearson VUE test center location.

You can schedule the PMP® Exam via Telephone with Pearson VUE easily. All you need to do is:

  • Step 1 - Get the contact centre number for your region from the official website.
  • Step 2 -  Give the representative your testing program, the name of your exam, and your PMI.
  • Step 3 - After your name, phone number, address, email address has been verified; your appointment will be scheduled.

To schedule the PMP® exam with test accommodations with Pearson VUE, this is what you need to do:

  • Get in contact with a representative from the Pearson VUE Contact center for your region.
  • You will be asked for your details regarding your testing program, the name of your exam and your PMI® ID.
  • Lastly, your name, phone number, email address and address will be verified.

To get the eligibility ID, you need to submit the PMP® certification fee or PMP® application audit. Once the payment is confirmed, you will receive an email confirming the same along with the 9-digit eligibility ID.

Here is how you can reschedule or cancel your exam: 

  • Log in to your account at the website www.PMI.org.
  • Select the Reschedule Exam or Cancel Exam option present under the Review Application Status section.
  • After you have selected the appointment you want to reschedule or cancel, you will find an option to do the same.

Note: Remember that if you are within 48 hours of your exam and you are cancelling your exam, you will have to forfeit the entire exam fee. 

For maintaining the integrity of the exam, certain things are prohibited in the Test centre. These include:

Whether you should take the Online Proctor exam or not totally depends on your ease-of-access. If you can’t get to the exam’s location or wish to take the exam from the comfort of your home or office, you should go for the exam. Step 5: On the next landing page, you will find the information related to the privacy policy of the exam sponsor. To move on to the next page, you will have to give your confirmation to all the policies and agree to the privacy regulations mentioned therein.

Step 6: In the next page you reach, you will have to put in the present eligibility ID that you got from PMI after the payment procedure was completed. You will also need to enter the first four characters of your last name.

Step 7: If the information, which you provided as above, matches, you will reach the page where you will be given the option to choose a time and date for the exam from the list of available options.

Step 8: The appointment is complete after the verification process is over, you have chosen your examination center, and provided all the other necessary information.

Step 9: There is no need to pay a fee to Prometric. You will just have to pay $405 to PMI after the application is approved.

Step 10: After this, comes the big step of the process. You need to reach the Prometric Testing Center in Chennai with the government ID for verification. You will need to answer 200 questions within the duration of four hours.

Step 11: You must attempt all the 200 questions, and you will get the results as soon as you submit the test.

You can apply for the PMP® exam three times using the same eligibility ID in case you are unable to pass the exam at the first attempt. You will just have to pay $275 to PMI to reschedule the exam through Prometric in Chennai. If you want a refund for PMP® certification, you must forward a request to the Project Management Institute thirty days before the expiry of the exam eligibility. After the refund is processed, the application gets closed and the validity of the eligibility period is over.
