The Project Management Institute-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®is a widely accepted credential in the Agile community, and is a reflection of the holder’s competence in carrying out project management using Agile practices. The certification mandatorily requires a combination of agile training, experience working on agile projects and a thorough comprehension of agile principles, practices, tools and techniques.

Certification

Prerequisites :

To apply for the PMI-ACP®, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. General Project Experience
  • 2000 hours of working on project teams within the last 5 years or having an active PMP®/PgMP® credential
  1. Agile Project Experience
  • 1500 hours of working on Agile Project Teams or with Agile Methodologies, in addition to “General Project Experience” above;
  1. Training in Agile Practices;
  • 21 contact hours earned in Agile Practices
Certification :

To take the PMI-ACP®Certification Exam, candidates need to register and create a login at the PMI’s Online System.

The Exam:

The computer-based PMI-ACP® examination is comprised of 120 multiple-choice questions and has to be completed in 3 hours. 100 questions are scored, and 20 pre-test questions which are not scored will be distributed randomly through the exam.

Please note that the credential must be maintained in 3 year cycles, by adding 30 PDUs in agile project management per three year cycle.

With the exception of the CAPM® credential, all those who earn a PMI® certification must actively maintain their certifications through participation in the CCR (Continuing Certification Requirements) Program and renewal of their certifications every 3 years. You can take part in professional development and learning activities to earn Professional Development Units (PDUs),thus fulfilling the continuing certification requirements and ultimately growing and developing as a practitioner.

To maintain your PMI-ACP® certification, you must earn and record 30 PDUs every 3 years.

Any registration cancelled within 48 hours of the initial registration will be refunded in FULL (please note that all cancellations will incur a 5% deduction in the refunded amount due to transactional costs applicable while refunding). On completing the course, you will get 21 PDUs and 21 SEUs

PDUs and SEUs are credits awarded by the Project Management Institute and the Scrum Alliance respectively. They recognize your dedication to the Agile and Project Management world through the award of credits for every educational effort you make throughout your career. At present, Scrum Alliance members who hold a Certified Scrum Professional®, Certified Enterprise Coach and/or Certified Scrum Trainer credential need to earn SEUs to get recertified. PDUs are offered by the PMI®, and every PMI® certification, except the CAPM®,requires you to earn a specific number of PDUs per three-year certification cycle.

You will receive the PMI-ACP® certification that is provided by the PMI® institute, on successfully passing the exam.

The PMI-ACP® examination is comprised of 120 multiple-choice questions and has to be completed in 3 hours. Of the 120 questions, 20 are considered pre-test questions and do not affect the score.
