The steps to schedule the PMP® exam through Pearson VUE are as follows:
  1. Visit the site through the link https://home.pearsonVUE.com/
  2. From the home page, navigate to test taker site, or directly click on the link https://home.pearsonVUE.com/test-taker.aspx
  3. On this page, you need to mention the name of your testing program, you can choose PMI, to select PMP® exams.
  4. After selecting the desired program, you will be redirected to the login page.
  5. Login using your web account on the PMI® website.
  6. In the next step you’ll have to choose between Center Based Test or Online Proctored Test option.
For Computer Based Test:
  1. Select the ‘I will be scheduling for a future date at a test center’ option and click on Next, after selecting the booking method
  2. You will be asked to review the View Testing Policies. Next, click on Schedule this exam.
  3. The next step allows you to choose the test center, date, and time for your PMP® certification exam. You just need to choose your exam center in Minneapolis and then choose a suitable date and time.
  4. Review all your details and click on Proceed to Checkout.
  5. Click on Submit Order.
  6. After confirming the booking, you will receive a confirmation email from Pearson VUE, which include the date, time and location of your test.
 For Online Proctored Test:
You can only select the Online Proctor exam for Certified Associate in Project Management(CAPM)® and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®. Follow the steps below to select the online proctor exam:
  1. The first and most important step is to verify that your system meets the minimum technical requirements, else in case of a system problem on your side during the exam, you are unlikely to receive a refund.
  2. Before scheduling the exam, you should complete your payment application.
  3. Once the payment is complete, log in to your PMI® account, and under myPMI, navigate to 'Review Application Status'.
  4. Click on ‘schedule Exam'.
  5. Select the exam you want to take, mention the required details and after clicking on agree to the online proctoring policies, click next.
  6. You can schedule the exam by selecting the date and location.
  7. Once, you have reviewed and submitted the application, you will receive a confirmation email mentioning the details of your exam.

According to the PMI, you can cancel your appointment for the PMP® exam for free, if you do so 30 days before the exam. If you cancel within 30 days, you will be charged with a fee of 70 USD.

If you cancel your exam within 2 days of the exam, the entire exam fees will be forfeited, and you have to pay the entire amount if you wish to take the exam again.

There is no information regarding the Paper-based Testing (PBT) given by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. However, they are working with Pearson VUE on shifting the PBT exam of candidates scheduled on or after 1stJuly, 2019 to Pearson VUE centers.

You can schedule the PMP® exam via telephone -

  • Step 1 - The representative at Pearson's contact center will connect with you and you need to mention the testing program that you wish to take. In this case, you should mention PMI.
  • Step 2 - For further process, you need to provide your PMI® id which you used for the PMI® website.
  • Step 3 - Lastly, mention your contact details and other relevant details. The contact person will verify it and confirm the same.

The steps to schedule the PMP® exam with test accommodations are as follows:

  • Navigate to accommodations on the Pearson VUE website or directly click on the link below- http://www.pearsonVUE.com/accommodations/select_program.asp
  • Select your test program from the directory where all the tests are mentioned in alphabetical order. In this case, click on PMI.
  • You will be redirected to the next page, where you can place your request. You should contact the test program directly for further process. A pre-addressed link is provided, which redirects to your mail. Mention your details and needs for test accommodations and send the mail

Your eligibility ID is in a confirmation email that you receive after you have successfully submitted the PMP® certification fee or PMP® application audit. You will be needing this ID to schedule your PMP® exam at the Pearson VUE website.

Following are the steps to reschedule or cancel a PMP® exam with Pearson VUE:

  • Log in to PMI® on www.PMI.org website, and under my PMI, click on 'Review Application Status'.
  • Click on 'Reschedule Exam or Cancel Exam'.
  • You will be redirected to your Pearson VUE account. Click the exam you want to reschedule or cancel under 'Upcoming Appointments'. 
  • After you review your application details, you will get an option to cancel or reschedule the exam.
  • The cancellation policy should be checked before canceling since the cancellation fees vary depending on how many days prior to the exam, you apply for cancellation.  

Note - If you are cancelling your exam within 48 hours of your exam then you will have to forfeit the entire exam fee.

Online Proctor exams can be taken up conveniently and easily from the comfort of your home or workplace. The exam will be monitored by an off-site proctor. There are certain requirements that should be in order to take OP exams.

  • The computer used to take the exam should meet the system requirements and specifications as mentioned on the website which includes Operating system, RAM, firewalls, internet connection, internet browser, display, webcam, and other additional settings.
  • A work area scan is performed by the proctor to check that your environment is suitable enough.
  • You should not use any of the prohibited belongings during the exams. The proctor himself checks your hair, tie, watches, etc. to ensure no unfair means are possible.

For the Online Proctor exam, there is a standard system, environment, technical and testing protocol requirements. Before scheduling an appointment, take care of the following things:

If you have scheduled your PMP® exam on or before 30 June 2019, you can take the exam at Prometric, but remember to schedule your exam before 19 April 2019.

The PMP® exam scheduled on or after 1st July will be conducted by Pearson VUE.

30 June 2019 is the last date for PMP® exam delivery at Prometric centers.

Step 3: That will take you to a page which allows you to choose country and state. You may select the country as United States, and choose the state as Minnesota.

Step 4: After the country is selected, the web page will refresh and take you on a page that will give you all the necessary information regarding the PMP® exam. Everything one needs to know about the PMP® exam is described on this page including the criteria for eligibility for PMP®, documents to be carried along for the test, accommodations, time of arrival to the exam center, reschedule and cancel the policy, and online scheduling of the exam.

Step 5: After reading everything thoroughly from the page in step 4, you’ll land on the page that provides information concerned with the privacy policy of the test sponsor. In the end, you will need to confirm and agree to all the clauses mentioned in the page to proceed to the next step.

Step 6: Once you are on the next page they will ask for your existing Eligibility ID received from PMI after the payment is made. Along with this, you’ll also have to enter the last 4 characters of your last name.

Step 7: If followed correctly, these steps will land you on a page that provides you with the available date and time options for your exam. You will then be required to choose a suitable date and time for your exam.

Step 8: Once you have successfully chosen your test center and provided the required information, your appointment verification process is over, and an appointment is made.

Step 9: No charges are applied for this on Promatic. However, you need to pay $405 to PMI once the application has been approved.

Step 10:  Once the enrollment process is complete, comes the day of the test. Show up at the Prometric Testing Center in Minneapolis with a government ID for verification. Duration of 4 hours is given to solve 200 questions in the test.

Step 11: Before you submit your test, all the 200 questions should be attempted, and you will be given the result right then.

To get a refund after the cancellation of a PMP® certification, one needs to file a request to PMI 30 days in advance of the expiry of their exam eligibility. The application will be closed after the refund is processed, and you will no longer be eligible to sit for the exam.
