About Disciplined Agile Coach Certification and Exam

1. For how long is the certification valid?

Your DAC certification is valid for one year, after which you would need to renew it. To renew the certification, you need to earn earn 7 PDUs in Agile topics and pay a renewal fee. For an updated information, please visit the PMI site.

2. Who provides the Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC) Certification?

Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC) Certification is provided by the Disciplined Agile Consortium (DAC), the governing body for certification in Disciplined Agile. All Disciplined Agile intellectual property (IP) is owned by the Project Management Institute, Inc.

3. What is the Disciplined Agile Coach exam pattern and passing score?

The DAC exam has the following format:

  • Exam type: Closed book, online
  • Question Type: Multiple-choice questions
  • Number of Questions: 60
  • Minimum pass mark: Passing score is not available for any of PMI certifications. The report indicates just 'pass' or 'fail' status.
  • Duration: 120 minutes

The DAC exam includes a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior at the beginning the exam with a duration of five minutes, a tutorial with a duration of 10 minutes, and a post-exam 15-minute survey. So, total exam time is 150 minutes.

The DAC exam does not include scheduled breaks. The examination is preceded by a tutorial and followed by a survey, both of which are optional, and take 5 to 15 minutes to complete. The time used to complete the tutorial and survey is not included in the examination time of 3 hours.

4. Can I retake the Disciplined Agile Coach test if I fail?

Yes, you can retake the Disciplined Agile Coach test twice, after your first failed attempt.

Course Overview

1. What is the process to get a Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC) certification?

Here are the steps to get the DAC certification:

  • Get trained by an Authorized Training Partner of PMI, by attending the 16-hour training.
  • Schedule your certification exam at a Pearson VUE test center or via the online proctored testing solution, using the eligibility code you receive from PMI.
  • Take the online closed-book multi-choice 120-min exam.
  • Exam results are made available immediately upon completion of the exam and are accessible in your Pearson Vue Dashboard by clicking on “View Score Reports”. The extent of the information provided in the exam score report is a “pass/fail” indication.
  • A passing score is not made available for DA certifications. On clearing the exam, you are officially a Disciplined Agile® Coach.
