  5. Display Resolution Setting: - At least 1440x900 or 1600x900 (16:9) recommended. Lower resolutions such as 1024x768 or 1280x800 are not recommended, as certain controls (such as closing the startup screen) display beyond those resolutions.
  6. CPU: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster x86- or x64-bit processor recommended.

Power BI Installation

Power BI server can Run on any Windows O.S. version. About hardware configuration 1GB hard disk is capable but 1.5 GB free space is recommended.

Memory 1GB {RAM} but recommended at least 4GB with processor X64 1.4Ghz Or faster for a smooth experience.

There are two different ways to download Microsoft Power BI:

Go to the Power BI Desktop webpage and click the download button or click the download button located under the down-arrow tab in the online Office 365 version of Power BI.

Download a .msi file to your PC. Run that file once the download is complete.

Once you accept the license agreement, you can install the application. The installation process will just take a minute depending on your PC and network connection.

Install your report server

Installing the Power BI Report Server is straightforward. There are only a few steps to install the files.

You don't need a SQL Server Database Engine server available at the time of install. You will need one to configure Reporting Services after install.

1. Find the location of PowerBIReportServer.exe and launch the installer.

2. Select Install Power BI Report Server.

3. Choose an edition to install and then select Next.

You can choose either Evaluation or Developer edition from the drop down.

Otherwise, you can enter a product key for the server that you acquired from either the Power BI service or the Volume License Service Center. For more information about how to get your product key, see the Before you begin section.

4. Read and agree to the license terms and conditions and then select Next.

5. You need to have a Database Engine available to store the report server database. Select Next to install the report server only.

6. Specify the install location for the report server. Select Install to continue.

The default path is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server.

7. After a successful setup, select Configure Report Server to launch the Reporting Services Configuration Manager.

After you select Configure Report Server in the setup, you're presented with Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
