FAQs on the CCBA Training Online

CCBA Certification Training Course

The Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) is a certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) for business analysts who want to be recognized for their expertise and skills in the field.

The CCBA exam is based on the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge Guide (BABOK Guide) which is available in multiple languages.

After completing the CCBA certification training course, you will be eligible to take the CCBA exam, and upon clearing it successfully, you will have a validation of your skills and experience as a qualified Business Analyst. This will enable you to build a successful career through increments, promotions, and better opportunities in the industry of your choice.

After completing the CCBA certification training, you will be skilled in several aspects of business analysis application such as business governance, process analysis, requirement lifecycle management, and using business intelligence to drive positive business outcomes.

There is no doubt about the CCBA certification adds an advantage to your CV. Becoming a professional in Business Analysis can help you earn better salaries and give you a chance to have greater opportunities in your profession.

A CCBA certification helps you validate your experience and skills as a Business Analyst and get ahead in your career. It is also a necessary certification if you want to get a CBAP certification in the future. And if you’re wondering about CCBA salary then you must know that certified CCBA professionals earn a lot higher than their non-certified peers.

The CCBA certification training is great for Business analysts, project managers, systems analysts, team members and others interested in achieving International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) CCBA® certification.

As such, there are no prerequisites for attending the CCBA training course, to get certified you need to pass the CCBA exam. The CCBA eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Have at least 3750 hours of Business Analysis Work Experience within the last 7 years.
  • Have at least 900 hours of experience in two of the six knowledge areas in BABOK Guide or have at least 500 hours of experience in four of the knowledge areas. (This experience need not be separate from the 3750 hours of business analysis experience mentioned in the first point.)
  • Have spent at least 21 hours on Professional Development (This is covered in your CCBA Course online)

CBAP would be the next level of certification to be pursued after CCBA. This is a professional level certification, and it will establish your credentials as a senior business analyst.

Yes, you will be eligible to take up 100 self-paced e-learning programs.

You will be eligible for 21 PDs on completing your CCBA course online.

Professional Development Hours or PDs are one of the requirements for CCBA Certification. This CCBA exam prep course will help you earn the required 21 PDs.

Your CCBA certification expires every three years. To renew the certification, you need to earn 60 Continuing Development Units (CDUs). This can be done by a list of activities like attending IIBA meetings, participating or volunteering at IIBA events, or by providing you BA services to a recognized non-profit organization.

A CDU or Continuing Development Unit is a unit to track and verify the involvement of a Business Analyst in educational activities of IIBA. Through CDUs IIBA can ensure that the certification holders are active participants in the community who contribute to each other’s growth and are updated about latest practices in Business Analysis.

No, CCBA certification is not mandatory, but based on your experience, you can choose the right certification.

IIBA offers 4 levels of certifications - ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, and CBATL.

You can acquire the CBAP exam if you have 7500 hours of business analysis experience.

The Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), and Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA), are both credentials offered for business analysts. These two credentials have a lot in common, but also have a lot of differences.

CCBA is primarily targeted at mid-level professionals who have served at least 3750 hours (roughly about 2.5 years) as business analysts in the industry performing BA-approved tasks as per IIBA. CCBA is a level 2 certification offered by IIBA.

CBAP is primarily targeted at senior-level business analysis professionals who have served at least 7500 hours (roughly about 5 years) as business analysts in the industry performing BA-approved tasks as per IIBA. CBAP is a level 3 certification offered by IIBA and is more difficult than CCBA.

Hence, it is difficult to point a finger at one course and call it the best one. Both these courses add value to your CV and your career as a whole. You can choose the right kind of a course depending on your level of expertise in the field.

The average salary of a Certified Business Analyst is an average of US$ 81,000 (Source: Glassdoor)
