The PMP® certification training is accessible in three different ways, the classroom training, instructor-led training, and the self-learning method. These modes have their ups and downs but the self-learning is considered the cheapest of the three. Online training can either be through self-learning mode or instructor-led mode. There are good online platforms where you can get 35 contact hours of PMP® training such as KnowledgeHut.
Following are the important factors you should consider before choosing the right online platform for training:
There are a lot of misconceptions and confusions regarding the overall cost of the PMP® certification. Unlike the popular belief, there are many other components apart from the training and the exam fee. The total amount you need to shell out for getting the certification could vary depending upon a lot of factors like the PMI membership costs, the cost of the preparation materials which are not part of training, the extra cost involved in scheduling and rescheduling your exam date and time through Prometric. One thing that stays constant is the exam fee, which remains the same across the globe and is charged in US Dollars by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The PMI members need to pay $405 while for the non-members it is $555. There is also an option to take up to three retakes if you fail to qualify at the first instance. For that PMI members need to pay $275 for each retake whereas the non-members are charged at $375 per retake.Below is the consolidated list of the various costs involved in the PMP® certification:
