In “Practical PMP with Primavera P6”, the focus is on project management, whereas in “Practical RMP with Primavera Risk Analysis”, it is primarily about project risk management and how risk management should get integrated with project management. In “Practical PMP with Primavera P6”, the software used for practical is Oracle Primavera P6, where as in “Practical RMP Primavera Risk Analysis”, the software used is Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, a completely different software used risk management. It was earlier known as Pertmaster.

In Primavera P6, a number of concepts from Risk Management cannot be fully applied, but with Primavera Risk Analysis you can apply these, e.g., Monte Carlo Analysis, Tornado Diagram, Qualitative Risk Register, Quantitative Risk Register, S-curve analysis etc. Also, Primavera P6 is primarily designed for project management, whereas Primavera Risk Analysis is primarily designed for risk management.

Yes, absolutely. You can. Both MS Project and Primavera P6 files can be imported to Primavera Risk Analysis, for risk management planning, analysis, control and reporting.

The course content of “Practical RMP” is based on the latest edition of Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, releases 2009. The course is also based on latest PMI-RMP handbook, published during the May 2015. Also, this course is up-to-date with the latest edition of PMBOK Guide, i.e., the 5th edition. The software version used is Primavera Risk Analysis is R8.7, which is the latest at the time the courseware is developed.

This is not a completely theoretical program covering various 5 processes, various tools and techniques, critical success factors et al, as outlined in Practice Standard for Project Risk Management. Rather, we cover the practical aspects, which can be understood with the following key points. To maintain your PMI-RMP, you must earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in risk management topics every three years.

No, there is no online/virtual course for. It is a classroom training program. We believe for a practical driven program covering material on Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and Primavera Risk Analysis, an expert instructor is needed. Candidates will be given a hard copy of the material of Practical RMP with Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis.


You will get 30 PDUs toward your continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI)® for Project Management Professional (PMP)® and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certifications.

PDUs and SEUs are credits awarded by the Project Management Institute and the Scrum Alliance respectively.
