Step 1: Register with SAI training partner

Step 2: Attend a training

Attend 16 hours (2 days) of SSM training conducted by the SAFe Program Consultant (SPC).

Step 3: Access the exam

After the training completion, a participant can access the exam within the SAFe community platform. Log in to take the exam.

Step 4: Take the exam

Attempt the SSM exam. The SSM exam format is:
1.5-hour (90 min) SSM online test
45 MCQs
Closed-book, web-based exam

Step 5: Passing score of the exam

The SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) certification exam passing score is:
SAFe®️ Scrum Master 5 (SSM 5) exam- 75% (34 out of 45)
SAFe®️ Scrum Master 4 (SSM 4) exam- 73% (33 out of 45)

Step 6: Earn SAFe®️ Scrum Master (SSM) Certification

On scoring the required passing marks, you will earn your SSM certification. Scaled Agile, Inc (SAI) will dispatch your certificate within 5-7 business/working days with a 1-year membership.

Step 7: Renew your Certification

You can renew your SSM certification by earning 10 PDUs and paying a renewal fee of $100 every year.
