    How to Become a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO®)

    The first step in becoming a Certified Scrum Product Owner is selecting and enrolling with an institute which is a Registered Education Provider (REP) of Scrum Alliance.

    • Study the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto

    Although studying the Scrum guide and Agile manifesto is not a prerequisite to taking the CSPO course, it will be beneficial in understanding the concepts faster.

    • Attend a Two-Day Certified Scrum Product Owner training

    In order to receive a CSPO® certificate, you need to mandatorily attend a two-day CSPO® course (which is a 16-hour course) taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST®). The main objective of this course is to teach the concepts of Scrum and help you qualify for the CSPO® certificate.

    • Recommendation by the Certified Scrum Trainer (CST)

    Once you complete the two-day CSPO® training program, your Certified Scrum Trainer will update your details to the Scrum Alliance (the governing body that issues CSPO® certificate) website.

    • Wait For Details From Scrum Alliance

    Once your CST updates your information, you will receive a welcome email from Scrum Alliance asking you to log in to your Scrum Alliance account and accept your CSPO® license.

    • Accept License Provided by Scrum Alliance

    Once you receive the welcome email, log in with the link provided and reset your password. After you do this, you can gain your license.

    • Download the CSPO Certificate


    Once you accept the license, you can download and use the CSPO® certificate. This is valid for two years post which you will have to renew your certification.
