PMP® Exam in Baltimore

Yes, for all the PMI® certification exams, the test centers will be moved from Prometric testing centre to Pearson VUE. This change will be placed in effect from 1st July, 2019. This is applicable for all the exams conducted worldwide, except China. The decision was taken after carefully considering the following options:

  • Pearson VUE offers more testing locations.
  • Online proctor exam option is available in Pearson VUE. This way the candidate will be able to take the exam directly from their homes or offices.
  • The members of the US Service will have the opportunity to take the PMI® exams from their base.

You can schedule your PMP® Exam through Pearson VUE in Baltimore online. Here is how you do it:

  1. Visit the website www.PMI.org and log into your account.
  2. In the myPMI® section, you will find option to review application status. Under that, there is ‘Schedule Exam’. Click it.
  3. Next, you will see a list of preapproved exam.
  4. The Pearson VUE page comprises of a space to enter the name of your testing program. You need to type PMI® - Project Management Institute in it.Note: You need to select your testing program before scheduling, rescheduling or cancelling an exam, or you could contact a customer service representative.

  5. Or else, you can click on ‘A to Z list of all programs’ which will take you to a list of test sponsors.
  6. The test sponsor name for PMP® is PMI® (Project Management Institute) which you’ll be able to find once you click on ‘P’.
  7. Once you find and click on PMI® - Project Management Institute, you’ll land on a page where you need to log in using your unique PMI® eligibility ID.
  8. In the next step you’ll have to choose between Center Based Test or Online Proctored Test option.

If you select CBT option:

Continue with the below-mentioned scheduling instructions to take up the PMP® Exam (CBT) in Baltimore Test Center:

  1. select the booking method option available to you. Choose the 'I will be scheduled for a future date at a test center’ option and click on Next.
  2. On the next page, read the View Testing Policies. Next, click on Schedule this exam.

You need to consider the following steps if you choose to take up the PMP® exam in Baltimore Test Center through Online Proctored Test:

  1. Agree to the online proctoring policies after reading it. Click ‘Next’.
  2. The next page comprises of the exam and language aid of your choice. You need to click on ‘View Testing Policies’ followed by ‘Schedule This Exam’.
  3. .In the next step, you need to choose the date and time which you wish to take your exam.
  4. Review your appointment details and click on ‘Proceed to Checkout’.
  5. Complete the checkout by following the next steps and then click on ‘Submit Order’.

A small fee of $70 will be charged on the cancellation of the exam within 30 days of the scheduled date. However, if you cancel your exam just 2 days before the scheduled appointment, no refunds will be made.

There is no news regarding the Paper based testing (PBT) of the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. However, all the candidates with their PBT exam scheduled on or before 1st July 2019 will be moved to a Pearson VUE test center.

Here is how scheduling of the PMP® Exam via Telephone is done:

  • Step 1 - Get in contact with the representative from Pearson VUE’s Contact center.
  • Step 2 - Give the details regarding your testing program, the name of your exam, and your PMI® ID.
  • Step 3 - Next, there will be the verification your name, address, phone number and email address.

This is what you need to do to schedule your PMP® Exam with Test Accommodations with Pearson VUE:

  • Find the Pearson VUE Contact Center’s number from the official website and get I contact with a representative.
  • Provide details like Testing program, name of the examination and your PMI® ID.
  • Lastly, verify your name, address, email address and phone number and your test accommodations will be scheduled.

Once you have paid your PMP® certification fee and it has been confirmed, you will receive an email confirming your appointment and providing the eligibility ID for PMP® Exam. You can also find the eligibility ID in the myPMI® section at the Pearson VUE website.

Here is how you can reschedule or cancel your PMP® Exam with Pearson VUE:

  • Visit the website www.PMI.org and under the Review Application status section, you will find the option to Reschedule Exam or Cancel Exam. Click it.
  • Next, from the list of exams in the upcoming appointment section, select the exam you want to reschedule or cancel.
  • You will see the option to ‘Reschedule Exam’ and ‘Cancel the Exam’. Click on it.

Note: Remember that if you are within 48 hours of your exam and you are cancelling your exam, you will have to forfeit the entire exam fee

If you want to take the Online Proctor exam, you must check out the testing protocol, environment, and technical requirements. You have to make sure that you have a system ready for the online proctor exam. The entire trial process would take about 5 minutes. Follow these steps:

  1. Run System test and exam simulation
    • Get the computer in the location from where you will be giving the test and download the system. Run the system in the computer.
    • The exam simulation will be created in the system that you can use to verify whether your computer can run the online proctored software or not.
    • For the simulation to work, you will need a webcam, a microphone and a working internet connection.
    • Also, to check your browser connection, you will have to take a one-question exam.

  2. Review policies and procedures
    For the proper working of the online proctor exam, there are specific guidelines and procedures laid out for the online proctored exam that you can find Policies & Procedure.

  3. Verify System Requirements
    There are some very specific requirements for the online proctor exam, which you can check System requirements 

For such candidates, the exam will be conducted at their selected Prometric test centre.

For such candidates, the exam will be moved to Pearson VUE test centre.

For scheduling your PMP® exam, log in to www.prometric.com and follow the below steps to confirm your exam appointment.

Step 1: Log in to the website and search for the test sponsor from the director list through the search button. The test sponsors of the PMP® exam is the PMI - Project management Institute.

Step 2:
After choosing the test sponsor, it directs you to the PMI page where you will find the option for scheduling the test. Click ‘Schedule my test’ Button.
Step 3: The landing page allows you to choose the country and state. The page has a directory, from which select the United States as your country.

Step 4: Once you select the country, the page will direct you to the page having information regarding the PMP® exam. The information consists of eligible cities, accommodation for PMP® training, time of arrival for the exam, documents required for the exam, rescheduling of exams, canceling and refund policy and online exam scheduling list.

Step 5: The next page has a privacy policy for the test sponsor. You need to agree to the mentioned policies and clauses to arrive on the next step.

Step 6: Enter the existing eligibility ID which was received from the PMI after making the payment. Also, enter the first 4 characters of the Last name.

Step 7: Once the information is verified, you will be directed to a page where you can choose a suitable date and time for the exam, from the given options.

Step 8: Your appointment gets confirmed as soon as you choose the test center. This concludes the verification process.

Step 9: You don’t have to pay any fee to the Prometric, but on approval of your application you are required to pay $405 as the exam fee.

Step 10:  On the day of the exam, you need to go to the Prometric testing center in Baltimore with a valid ID proof for verification. The test consists of 200 questions, and the exam duration is  4 hours.

Step 11: Attempting all the 200 questions is mandatory. After you complete, press submit button and get the results immediately.

You can re-apply for the PMP® certification exam up to three more times with the same eligibility ID if you have not cleared in your first attempt. By paying $275, you can always reschedule the PMP® exam through Prometric. If you do not clear the exam even after these three reattempts, you need to start the entire process afresh.

Rescheduling of the PMP® exam can be done through Prometric by paying a fee of $70 within 30 days of your appointment. Here is the step-by-step procedure to reschedule the PMP® exam through Prometric:

Step 1: Sign in to www.prometric.comStep 2: Choose the test sponsor from the director in the search tab. For all the PMP® exams, the test sponsor is the PMI-Project Management Institute.Step 3: You will land on the rescheduling/cancel my test page after choosing your test sponsor.

Step 4: Choose your country and state on the next page from the default country directory on the same page.

Step 5: In this step, you need to give your confirmation number or tracking number along with the first four characters of your last name.

Step 6: After you enter all the required information and the verification procedure is over, your appointment will be confirmed.

If you cancel the appointment, you can get a refund of your exam fee. You need to submit your request for the refund with the PMI directly 30 days prior to the expiry of your exam eligibility. As soon as the refund is processed the validity of your eligibility period will end, following which the application is closed.

PMP® Exam & PMP® Renewal

The PMP® certificate is valid for a time period of 3 years. However, it is very easy to renew the certification just by earning PDUs to fulfill the Continuing Certification Requirements or the CCR.

As a member, you will need to earn 60 PDUs to make sure that the requirement for the CCR is renewed along with the PMI certification. The members are also required to earn PDUs on a regular basis so that their PMI certification is active as part of the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR).

Here are the steps required to renew the PMP® certification through the CCR process:

Step 1

Earn a PMI certification

There is a cycle of duration for which the certificate is valid. The CCR cycle starts from the very day on which you will pass the PMP® examination and then it will be valid for a time period of 3 years.

Step 2

Participate in professional development activities

To earn PDUs, you will need to participate in professional development activities that are conducted at various times.

Step 3

Record and report PDUs

Record the PDUs earned through various activities, and submit your PDU claims through the CCR system.

Step 4

Fulfill CCR requirements

To meet the CCR requirements for the PMI certification as a member, you will need sufficient PDUs.

Step 5

Complete CCR application and pay renewal fee

Once you have fulfilled all the CCR requirements, you will be able to renew your certification and make the required payment.

Step 6

CCR Renewal Complete

Once all the above-mentioned steps have been carried out, your CCR certificate will be renewed once again for 3 years.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO PREPARE FOR PMP® CERTIFICATION IN BATIMORE?
