PMP® Exam & PMP® Renewal

The PMP® certificate is valid for a time period of 3 years. However, it is very easy to renew the certification just by earning PDUs to fulfill the Continuing Certification Requirements or the CCR.

As a member, you will need to earn 60 PDUs to make sure that the requirement for the CCR is renewed along with the PMI certification. The members are also required to earn PDUs on a regular basis so that their PMI certification is active as part of the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR).

Here are the steps required to renew the PMP® certification through the CCR process:

Step 1

Earn a PMI certification

There is a cycle of duration for which the certificate is valid. The CCR cycle starts from the very day on which you will pass the PMP® examination and then it will be valid for a time period of 3 years.

Step 2

Participate in professional development activities

To earn PDUs, you will need to participate in professional development activities that are conducted at various times.

Step 3

Record and report PDUs

Record the PDUs earned through various activities, and submit your PDU claims through the CCR system.

Step 4

Fulfill CCR requirements

To meet the CCR requirements for the PMI certification as a member, you will need sufficient PDUs.

Step 5

Complete CCR application and pay renewal fee

Once you have fulfilled all the CCR requirements, you will be able to renew your certification and make the required payment.

Step 6

CCR Renewal Complete

Once all the above-mentioned steps have been carried out, your CCR certificate will be renewed once again for 3 years.

The major categories which are present under PMI’s CCR Program to renew 60 PDUs include:

  • Education
  • Giving back to the Profession

A member can earn at least a minimum of 35 PMP® renewal PDUs by carrying out the activities that fall under the Education category.

PMP® Certification Course in Baltimore, MD

The PMP® certification in Baltimore is a widely taken online examination. To take up the examination, candidates have to register for the examination, a few months in prior. This is where candidates need to calculate the amount of time they would need to get well versed with the study materials for project management certification in Baltimore.

Study materials

The PMBOK® guide has all the concepts and contents which are needed for this examination. This book has 600 pages and each page will have complex concepts and theories. Beyond this, you would also need a few preparation reference books for project management courses in Baltimore. If the institute which you choose in Baltimore does not support this guide, then you are with a fraudulent institute.

Strategy for preparation

When you learn that there are 600 pages in that book, your confidence level would taken a dip down. Out of 100 candidates who took project management training inBaltimore; about 32% of the candidates completed the preparation in 2 months. 22% needed only 3 months. 20% took 6 months. 8% of the candidates needed just one month.

Let us take a crude average and consider that you are about to take the PMP® training courses in Baltimore from reputed institutes like KnowledgeHut. You would need 2-3 months of study with support from any reputed institutes in Baltimore, like KnowledgeHut.

Action plan

There are 600 pages. Say, a page has one main concept and a few small concepts. Let us assume that you take 30-45 minutes to understand those concepts. Now, take up thepreparation book and find some questions related to the concept. Try to find answers. You might get a few wrong and you might need to re-check the concept. Say, this preparation takes 15 minutes. You would need a maximum of one hour for a page. This is the maximum count. If you enroll with reputed institutes like KnowledgeHut, you register with the top class agenda which would provide preparation materials, mock test papers and other resources to learn the concepts easily.

In big picture, you need to spend 5-6 hours per day for 75 to 90 days for cracking the examination. This is the maximum count.  Most of the people who take PMP®certification training classes in Baltimore would be having a full time day job and obviously, a personal life to tend with. Thus, your ideal action plan should be either 5-7 hours per day or 1300 questions, per day. This will also help them master the time constraint factor in the examination.

To conclude, you would need at least three months gap from the date of registration for taking up the examination. So, it is better to choose a reputed institute like KnowledgeHut immediately and register soon. Create timetables and action plans which would suit you. If the above stated plan look too tedious for you or too simple for you, you can always made changes to it. After all, it is you who is going to keep up to thattime tables. So, make realistic and challenging action plan, register for the examination and enroll with reputed institutes, like KnowledgeHut.
