PMP® Exam in Edmonton

It is indeed true that the Project Management Institute or PMI® has announced that it would be relocating all of its certification examinations all over the world to Pearson VUE. The only exception is China. The action has been exercised to provide a better exam exposure to the students.

This move will have the following benefits:

  1. Online Proctoring will be granted for the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®.   2. Due to the option of numerous more testing locations available, it will be easier for the candidates to choose a convenient test site.
  3. US Service members will be offered flexibility to take the test irrespective of where they serve around the world.
  4. Candidates who have their exams scheduled on or before 30th June 2019, can appear for it at a Prometric test center. Whereas candidates who have their examination after 30th June 2019 will have their center shifted to a Pearson VUE test center.

  1. In the next step, you will have to pick the booking method option. Select the ‘I will be scheduled for a future date at a test center’ option and click on Next.
  2. After clicking on Next, you will be asked to review the View Testing Policies. After this, click on Schedule this exam.
  3. The next step allows you to choose the test center, date, and time for your PMP® certification exam. You just need to choose your exam center in Edmonton and then choose a suitable date and time.
  4. The next step is to review the appointment. Click on Proceed to Checkout.
  5. Once you’re through with the above steps, click on Submit Order to confirm your appointment
  6. You will receive a confirmation mail from Pearson VUE.

If you select Online Proctored Test:

If you choose to take up the PMP® exam in Edmonton Test Center through Online Proctored Test, you need to consider the following steps -

  1. Agree to the online proctoring policies after reading it and click ‘Next’.
  2. The next page comprises of the exam and language aid you have selected. You need to click on ‘View Testing Policies’ and then click on ‘Schedule This Exam’.
  3. In the next step, you need to choose the date and time you wish to take your exam on. However, you do not have to select a location. You can schedule your PMP® exam at any time of the day between Tuesday to Saturday. First, select a date you would like to take your exam on and then the time.
  4. Once you make the selection, you need to review your appointment details and then click on ‘Proceed to Checkout’.
  5. Complete the checkout by following the next steps and then click on ‘Submit Order’.
  6. You will receive a confirmation email from Pearson VUE once your appointment is confirmed.

A fee of $70 will be charged if you cancel your exam within 30 days of your scheduled appointment. You have to cancel your appointment before 48 hours of the exam, otherwise, you will have to abandon the entire exam fee.

Although the Project Management Institute (PMI)® has not yet given any updates on Paper-based Testing (PBT), it will work with Pearson VUE regarding the candidates who are scheduled for PBT exam to Pearson VUE test center location on or after 1st July 2019.

To schedule your PMP® exam with Pearson VUE through telephone, follow the given steps -

Step 1: The representative at the Pearson VUE’s Contact Center will ask you about your Testing program, which is PMI® or the Project Management Institute.
Step 2: Next, you will have to tell the name of the examination and your PMI® ID.
Step 3: In the End, your name, address, email address, and phone number will be verified.

In order to schedule the Test Accommodations, you must have been first verified. Following are the steps to schedule the PMP® Exam with Test Accommodations with Pearson VUE:

  • Contact the Pearson VUE Contact Center.
  • Give the details including the Testing program, name of the examination and your PMI® ID.
  • Following, you will have to verify your name, email address, phone number, and address.

You will receive an email confirming your appointment after you submitted the PMP® Certification fee or complete the PMP® application audit. Along with the confirmation, you will be provided the PMP® eligibility ID in the email. You can also find this ID in the myPMI® section of the Pearson VUE website.

  • Visit www.PMI.org and under the Review Application status section, click on Reschedule Exam or Cancel Exam.
  • You will be directed to your Pearson VUE account, under the Upcoming Appointment section, click on the exam that you want to reschedule or cancel.
  • When you review the exam’s current appointment details, you will get an option to reschedule or cancel your exam.

Note: Note if you are canceling 48 hours of your exam, you will have to forfeit the entire exam fee.

If you have the right computer equipment as per the given specifications and want to take the exams from the comfort of your office and home, Online Proctor exam is definitely appropriate for you.

If you want to take the Online Proctor exam, you need to make sure that you understand the system, environment, technical and testing protocol requirements. You must do this before scheduling an appointment. Just follow these steps:

  1. Running System test
    • Take the computer in the location you will be taking the exam from and download and run them in the system.
    • Make sure that you have a microphone, working internet connection, and a webcam.
    • You will have to take a one-question exam to check your secured browser connection.
  2. Review policies and procedures
    There are some policies and procedures for the online proctor exam, which you can check here.

  3. Verify System Requirements
    Verify that your system meets the system requirements for the online proctor exam.

The exam will be conducted at a Prometric test center for candidates who have their exams scheduled on or before 30th June 2019.

The exam will be moved to Pearson VUE for candidates with their exams scheduled on or after 1st July, 2019.

30th June, 2019 is the last date for PMP® Exam delivery at Prometric centers.

The Prometric test center in Edmonton is located at:

For scheduling an exam in Edmonton you need to visit the website www.prometric.com. Once you are logged in you need to follow the below procedure for confirming the candidature for PMP® examination in Edmonton. Below are the steps:

  • After logging in select state sponsor from the directory and then proceed by clicking on the search button.
  • After you select the state sponsor it will redirect you to the PMI® page directly. Here you will have the option of scheduling your test.  Make sure that you hit the button which says “Schedule My Test”
  • The succeeding page lets you select your state and country.  This page features a directory from which you have to select your country as Canada.
  • Once you select Canada the page will be offering you the necessary information you require related  to the PMP® examination.  The information that will be provided includes examination schedule, cancellation, and rescheduling policy, arrival time, documents required in the test, accommodations, and the eligibility criteria for PMP®.
  • In the next page, you will find relevant information related to the exam sponsor’s privacy policy. If you wish to move on to the next page then you will have to confirm that you agree to the policies and privacy regulations stated.
  • In the following page, you will have to manually enter the eligibility ID that you receive from PMI® after completion of the payment procedure. You are required to enter the first four characters of your last name.
  • If the information provided by you is right then you will be directed to a page where you will be provided the option to select the date and time of your choice from the list of available options.
  • Once the verification process is over your schedule is confirmed. Make sure that you have chosen the examination center and provided all the other necessary information.
  • You do not have to pay any fee to Prometric. Once your application is approved you will have to pay $405 to PMI®.
  • You must reach the Prometric Testing Centre in Edmonton on the day of the exam, with an authorized ID card published by the Canadian government.  Thereafter, you will have to answer 200 questions of the test within a brief period of four hours.    
  • You need to attempt all the 200 questions and the results will be delivered instantaneously when you submit the test.

If you’ve failed to crack the test in the first attempt. You can make three attempts to clear the PMP® examination with the same eligibility ID. All you need to do is pay an amount of $275 to PMI® for rescheduling the examination through Prometric in Edmonton. On the off-chance that you fail to clear the test in three re-attempts, you need to go through the entire process of application one more time right from the beginning.

Rescheduling the PMP® exam through Prometric is easy if you are willing to pay an amount of $70 within 30 days of scheduling the exam.  Here is a walkthrough of the steps that you need to follow if you wish to reschedule your exam in Edmonton through Prometric.

Step 1: Visit prometric.com

Step 2: Once you log in you have the option of selecting the test sponsor from the directory by clicking on the search button. For PMP® examination PMI®-Project Management Institute is the test sponsor.

Step 3: Once you have selected the test sponsor you need to choose Reschedule/ Cancel My Test.

Step 4: Navigate to the next page by clicking on the RESCHEDULE/ CANCEL MYTEST tab. You need to choose your country from the directory provided.

Step 5: Log in by providing the confirmation/tracking number together with the first four characters of your last name.

Step 6 Confirmation of your application will be done once you submit all the information.

If you are desirous of getting a refund for PMP® certification then, first of all, you need to place a request to the PMI® before thirty days of exam eligibility expiration. Once the refund is processed your application is closed and the eligibility period is terminated.

PMP® Exam & PMP® Renewal

The validity of PMP® certification is three years. You can renew the certification by earning PDUs for  the fulfillment of Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR).

It is mandatory that you keep on earning PDUs for the active maintenance of the PMI® Certification as an integral part of the CCR (Continuing Certification Requirements). For the purpose, you require 60 PDUs to fulfill the requirements of CCR and renew the PMI® certification.

Below are the procedure with regards to your participation in the CCR program:
