While the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification is in itself a credential that will open up a lot of doors for you, it does not teach the practical aspects of project management. In order to put all your theoretical knowledge to practical use, hands-on knowledge of tools such as the Microsoft Project will stand you in good stead. Our workshop combines the theoretical aspects of your PMP® training together with the practical applications of MS Project and MS Excel. You will learn to use the practical applications outlined in Microsoft Project, while adhering to the industry best-practices defined in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, (PMBOK® Guide)—Fifth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2013.

Certification

Prerequisites:
Education Background Project Management Experience Project Management Education
High school diploma, associate's degree or global equivalent Minimum five years/60 months unique non overlapping professional project management experience during which at least 7,500 hours were spent leading and directing project tasks. * 35 contact hours of formal education.
- OR -
Bachelor's degree or global equivalent Minimum three years/36 months unique non-overlapping professional project management experience during which at least 4,500 hours were spent leading and directing project tasks* 35 contact hours of formal education.
*Leading and directing project tasks as identified in the Project Management Professional Examination Specification. Within the total hours of project management experience, experience in all five process groups is required. However, on a single project, you do not need to have experience in all five process groups.

For MS Project certification, there is no such pre qualification needed from Microsoft. As you have covered the eligibility for Practical PMP, as mentioned before, you will be automatically eligible for MS Project certification from Microsoft. The exam for it will be “70-178 – Managing Projects with Microsoft Project 2010”.


Certification:

Project Management Professional, PMP® is a credential offered by the Project Management Institute - PMI®, USA.
Practical PMP will be based on PMP pattern but with equal emphasis on knowing the practicality of PMP with the help of Microsoft Project 2010.

The Exam

The PMP® examination is comprised of 200 multiple-choice questions and has to be completed in 4 hours. The exam for MS Project 2010 will be “70-178 – Managing Projects with Microsoft Project 2010”.
